Solange Rodríguez Pappe is one of the leading figures of the current Latin American fiction scene. In 2010, she received the coveted literary prize Joaquín Gallegos Lara awarded to the best fiction work in Ecuador. She describes herself as a writer specialized in the art of the "strange" and science fiction. Solange teaches literature at the Universidad de las Artes de Guayaquil she also mentors wrters in the workshop “El taller de escritura de la imaginación “ in existence since 2013. She has published eight short story collections including her most recent La bondad de los extraños (2014) that has received great critical acclaim. Solange Rodríguez holds M.A. and a B.A. degrees in Latin American Literature and Communication.
